I wish I was good at writing sonnets
I wish I knew how long this thing should be
I hope to earn a good grade on this poem
If not an A i'll settle for a B
The rhyme sceme alternates from line to line
throughout the first three quatrains anyway
then add another pair of lines that rhyme
to emphasize the things I need to say
I hope your expectations are not high
*****(I need a line right here)
Its not as if I didn't really try
The pressure of the deadline makes it hard
writing this assingment must be a curse
but not to try would certainly be worse.

****Is this in iambic pentameter? please say yes and help me write the 10th line

for the most part, yes, a couple small mistakes in the accent of the syllables.

Yes, it certainly is iambic pentameter. Ten syllables per line, or five pairs of syllables; an unstressed syllable followed by a stressed syllable. Like so: u / u / u / u / u /.

You might want to read William Cullen Bryant's "Thanatopsis", a beautiful poem written in unrhymed (blank verse) iambic pentameter.

Well, you might need to change a few words around.
You want it to sound like "duhDUHduhDUHduhDUH" the whole way through. Haha, if that makes any sense. the "duh" is something you don't stress and the DUH is stressed. For instance in the word "writing" the first syllable is stressed and the second one is not. You don't say "writING". (The way you have it is that way. I hope I am making sense. You definitely have 10 syllables in every line, good job with that. And you need to know what kind of sonnet you're supposed to be doing so you can get the rhyme right. Some are abab and another one is like abba. Good luck!

Very nicely done.

L3 is an 11 count, not a 10.
