Hi I am usually a PC gamer. Now I want to buy a console but x box 360 and PS 3 are too expensive for me. I want to buy PS 2 but my friends are advising against it as they will stop making PS 2 games pretty soon. Is it true?

Yes, the PS3 has replaced the PS2. The release of a new console usually ends the life of the previous console. Nintendo doesn't make NES, SNES, N64, or Gamecube games anymore, so it makes sense that Sony would stop making PS2 games (they already stopped making PS1 games a long time ago). This is how console gaming works.

Yes, the games for the PS2 will be stopped being produced soon. There are games coming out for the PS2 next year, but none of the games are even anything special. All of the good games for the PS2 have already come out.
In my opinion the last "great" game to come out on the PS2 was God of War 2 early this year. Most of the PS2's games are pretty cheap, but to get some of the older games, you might have to buy them online.

Owning both I have to say are both great and both have great games. Hardware wise the Vita is better, (look at Killzone etc for graphics, it has OLED, twin sticks and capasitive multi touch etc) and that's ok because the ds still has great games and features the vita doesn't have, like a volume slider that imo is nicer, an sd card slot and 3d although I don't play games much with it enabled. tbh if you are buying a Nintendo system it's not because it's a hardware beast but for the Nintendo games, same as a Wiiu.

So what if they stop making games for it you can buy used. There are tons of great PS2 games. You should get it if you are ok with buying used games.

They are stopping the make them. Because this will force people to buy a ps3 lol gives them more money :(

I think it's true, because now the sell of Nintendo Wii more higher than PS3, so maybe they will focus in PS3.
