Just take a few moments to think about this before you answer.
Would you want people to tell you that your place is in the home, barefoot and pregnant? Would you be "o.k." with having other people and/or the government having control over your body? Would you be satisfied with being seen as overly-emotional and incapable then of being a good leader? Would you appreciate the negative attitudes you see in this forum about your gender? Would you be appreciative for having to fight for your equality? Would prejudice or discrimination be something you could live with?

And, if you were a woman, what would you do to address these issues if they bothered you? Would you do nothing?

I'm not bitter. That's not the purpose of this question. It's not a rant. It's a fair question. If men could see the world from a female perspective- I mean truly see it, would they understand why feminism came to be? Would they recognize it as needed or valuable?

I'm looking at feminism from a historical perspective, and yes, times are changing. But would they be, if women were truly "happy" with second class status? I think not. Obviously, there was a need for change.

If I were a woman I would be terribly upset with how my gender is being treated. I would be also upset with being treated like this while being under the control of men.
This then would make me mad because I have little say in many matters. There are many women that could take on the job of any man including our Prime Minister or the President.
The emotional thing that is used against women has little meaning. Emotions are part of being human whether Female or Male, both have emotions.
There have been answers that I thought were demeaning for women, although there were a few that went about things in a manner not really suitable for feminists.
I believe that the world is being cheated because women have been put down from the time of the Romans. They lost it then and how many were murdered because of having normal intuition that most women and mothers have?
It was a wholesale slaughter of women that men , and all people, should be ashamed of. If women were to have even equality the world would benefit because of their teaching children what is right and wrong.
Women should have an equal role with everything from education to Politics and Religion. there would probably be less discomfort to the world if women were to have their fair share and say.
Politics may start to have some areas that are actually good for people rather than feeding the greed of those that live on our wages.
Religion would return to where it should be without the need of "made up man Gods." This power was removed because it threatened MEN and they took control by strength both physical and from the new Religion. That classed women as a lesser than human beings.
Yes If I was a woman I would be ripping mad at the present societry.

Tera - no anti feminist here, but with all due respect, you sound as if you are living in the 40s or 50s. I don't personally know ANYONE who says that a "woman's place is in home, barefoot and pregnant."
Gov't control? The government controls all kinds of things, including sometimes saving us from ourselves - "Click it or ticket."
Good leaders? Very few people (men or women) are good leaders. Some women can be good leaders. My family will always be lead by me.
Appreciate negative attitude? There's no monopoly on negativity here. Plenty to go around.
Fight for equality? I've been fighting for years. I focus on winning "the fight" rather than complaining about it. Get more done that way.
Live with discrimination? Sure, I have no choice but to play the hand I was dealt. IMO, I deal with more prejudice and discrimination than a white woman in the US ever does.

Just like how there is rubbish out there in the world for anything... For dieting you will find 99% crap and 1% of the books in the bookstore even helpful. Just because there is a rise in feminist books, it does not mean they are all good. Some are bad and filled with dumb info just like you would find in any other field BUT there are some gems in there that every man should read. The field if feminism is not exempt from stupidity. I think it is too harsh to say that masculinity is HARDMFUL for boys/men/society because some of it is good and some of it is bad. Men cannot show emotions, they cannot like fashion, cannot let your wife be the breadwinner because all hell would break loose. You have to divorce her now and marry a woman who earns less than you so you can be at ease. Ugh. Posting short replies get nowhere...

Well, if my life was so miserable, sure I wouldn't be happy.
Isn't that the reason for what feminism stands up? Fighting for equality?
But truth be told, similar prejudices exist against men.
That depends of what kind of men and women you're referring to. Some of them don't give a damn about feminist perspectives, just want to be left alone with their lives. Others, yes, do appreciate what feminism has achieved. Others actively support it. Others are strongly against it. So if ALL men could see the world as you say, that wouldn't mean automatic appreciation, or even recognition.
Times are changing? For women, times changed a lot ago. How many women can you think of that take for granted the rights hardly earned for their fellow women years back? Is that bad? Is good? Then, there are the ones who say "There's still work to do". Then there are the masculists. And of course there are the perennial misandrists/misogynists who rejoice in the boring battle between genders. That is an "issue" that has remained unchanged.

Are you the real Tera? You sound quite bitter now. I hope this question of yours doesn't get deleted like the other.

You are making a few silly assumptions here:
Not all anti-feminists are men (sadly).
Very rarely are women really told they should be barefoot and pregnant in a serious manner.
How does the government control your body?
Men have societal pressures not to be emotional. and if they are they are either wusses or need anger management.
There are negative attitudes on this forum about men.
Men live with prejudice and discrimination too.
Just playing devils advocate...before you ask a question you should kick the victim attitude and really think if men (not just anti feminists) may be dealing with similar problems too.
But having to fight for your rights is very true. Unless of course these men are minorities.
Sorry, I have seen you ask much better and thought out questions.
EDIT- I am not saying there isn't a need for change, I am saying that the issues you mention are issues men deal with as well.
As far as prescriptions being filled, yes that is an issue. But when a company does something you don't approve of you don't do business with them. If enough people do this they will no longer be in business. This is why many pharmacists carry the "Morning After" pill, even if they don't agree with it.
There are also many other health related issues that the gvernment and other people have control over (medical marijuna for example). The reproductive organs are not the only organs in the body.

As far as I can see, women's place in society isn't any worse than that of men. I feel about the same towards being told my place is in the home making babies as I feel about being told my place is in the workplace, because it is my job to provide financial support. Last I checked the US government exercises more control over men's bodies than those of women......when exactly did you register for selective service? I would feel about the same towards the negative attitudes towards women as I would feel about the negative attitudes towards men. Having to fight for equality? There are men all around this country that don't have custody of their children trying to fight for this right now. More men in court fighting for the lower sentences women receive.
I am not anti-feminist......the problem is that the majority of real feminists fighting for equality and justice are long gone. We are left with a bunch of self-proclaimed feminists that look down on men as second class citizens just as much as the men they are angry at look down on women as second class citizens.
I am a very strong supporter of equality.....but equality of unfairness, scorn, and special status isn't quite what I have in mind.

I am for women's equality... but female feminists act as if men have it all good. In my opinion... women have more power then a man could ever have. She can get an abortion without the man's consent. I don't care what anyone's view is... that is taking a life. At least consult the father whether he is a douchebag or not

The female anti-feminists DO support and believe, all of the above - except for the 'fight for equality' part - fighting's not feminine.
