Before we go for any new action or activity, there must be an aim/idea behind that. You wanted to change your name by not taking the requisite legal process, which is I consider as illegal and serve any useful purpose. Therefore, under these conditions your question do not deserve to ne answered.

However, if it is for fun or you consider your present name iis not attractive or funny, then there are some considerations for such an action. For example, in the State of Kerala ( South India), some people name their daughters as 'Sally', but when she moves to Northern part of the country with some purposes, this name is very funny & humiliating.

If you still consider it necessary, you can use some nick-name, but will be effective only in a new location other than where you were born and brought up or lived for longer time.

I am not sure you can because to get health care and gov things, you need a SIN. here is a website:
http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/name-change/how-to.html on how to do it legally
of course, you can always use an alias (also know as) name but I don't know anything about that. I guess if someone asks you your name you could say you are esmeralda houshmandouza and people will start to call you that, but for credit cards, etc., if you use that name, you might be able to be charged with fraud. Only guessing.
good luck

For legal documents, you must use your legal name. For anything else, you simply start using whatever name you like. As long as you don't lead others to believe you are someone else, using a nickname is perfectly legal.

Use your nickname every time you introduce yourself to someone new. When you write your name, write your nickname. Tell old friends that you now prefer to be called by your nickname.
