DMac would fit perfectly in the Patriot way. And about the defense Bill will do what he does every year, pull vets from the free agency. And if you have not noticed the reason the Pats do not run the ball is because they can't with Maroney after he was banged up he was never the same, and will probably never be the same again. Because if you look at when Sammy Morris was in the lineup the Pats had no problem running the ball, but Morris is old and injury prone. And unlike Adrian Peterson DMac does not come with the injury prone label.

They won't draft McFadden. I'm pretty sure they will trade their high draft choice, since they do not need a running back. Maroney is a fine choice at RB. And I'm NOT a Pats fan, but whoever said the Pats were a team full of egos is an idiot. Brady, Bruschi, Matt Light, Mike Vrabel, Colvin, Harrison. These players are all perfect examples of TEAM players. That is why they are so successful. Any player who goes to the Pats should consider themselves lucky.

What is the exact logic for drafting McFadden???? its a wasted draft pick. They have a good back in Maroney and fail to do anything with him. If i was McFadden , i would rather go to a team like Oakland, Chicago, or even the Texans. He would play his rookie year and not have to play with a team full of egos. The Pats are 1 dimensional and everyone knows it, but just can't stop it, it would be kinda funny if they do go 16-0 and lose in the AFC divisional round at home... that would be FANTASTIC!!

Why would they? They don't run the ball much anyway. The only scenario I could see this happening is if they elect not to resign Moss and keep Welker and Gaffney as their primary receivers and elected to go with Laurence Maroney as a 3rd down back and McFadden as their 1st and 2nd down back. McFadden cannot be a feature back in his rookie season. I don't believe that he could handle 25-30 touches per game for 16 games. He doesn't even handle that much in college for 12 games. I believe that New England would be better off getting someone to replace Asante Samuel since it looks like he will be leaving in the off-season.

it could start to be the dismantling of the great so called Pats dynasty in my eyes.

you got an old defense. linebackers are old and rodney harrison only has like 1 more year left.

McFadden is a great player but when you already got a good enough back in Maroney thats just wasting a pick on another RB when you obviously need help with getting younger on the defense.

what they should do is trade down and get a mid round first and another first round next year.

McFadden's definitely better but I say why draft him when they already have Maroney? Its not like they run much anyway..they need to draft a defensive player..I say Dan Connor the LB from Penn St.

Everyone has forgotten Sammy Morris. He had been steller since signing as an unrestricted free agent before getting injured. With Maroney and Morris, there is no need for McFadden.

I see them signing a veteran instead, like they did with Corey Dillon 4 years ago or this offseason with the wide receivers, did they draft somebody in the 1st round? No, they better went shopping.

He won't be available anyway. The Dolphins won't let him go because Ronnie Brown has not been their answer.

They need to renovate their aging LB corps before drafting a RB.

As much as i would love for them to draft DMac , i see them addressing their Linebacker core all their starting Linebackers are 30 or older .
But they have been known to shock people , maybe they do take talent this year instead of need

McFadden for 1st and 2nd down and Maroney the punishing 3rd down back next year they could be an all running team

Laurence Maroney is no chump, and was a beast coming in as well.

McFadden on paper would make any team much better, but you can never tell how players will adjust to the NFL.

Durability is an unpredictable commodity...

It also seems that the Pats don't need a running game...
