it was my birthday...and i had heard my fiance had recently died in iraq.on that day i opened my mail box, inthere from his friend in his base was a package.i opened it and started crying.it was our ring, and my long lost book of greg.in the l;etter was two letters, one was dated 4 days before his death.he said he might not make it home, and said also that we shouldnt get married till it was certain he was going to be there.he wanted me to live my life to the fullest, not wait for a man destined never to return.i think your question brought up old memories,my birthday is today and i still remember.

A few years ago I went through a very ruff time. To the point that I tried to commit suicide. While in the hospital a neighbor (one I really had not gotten along with) sent me an I'm thinking of you card with best wishes written inside. It really touched me.

By the way I am much better now. Suicide is never a good answer to any problem.

A card...that said "I've been staring at this for the past twenty minutes trying to figure out something cool to write...I couldn't. I just wanted to let you know you're in a class of your own. You should know that you deserve the best life has to offer. I hope you like the card. And you're awesome."

It's on my desk and I got it like a year ago. Oh and a safety vest, with two ring pops, and a bag of jolly ranchers.

My brother is in the Navy, and he is currently stationed in Iraq. He flies on helicopters since he is a corpsman. He sent me an American flag that he had flown over all of his operating zones in Iraq in my honor. It also had a certificate with it signed by the commander of his unit and the pilot of the chopper. He's so wonderful; can't wait til he gets home!

In college I was complaining to my friend over the phone that I was so broke that I couldn't even afford a box of tampons. I was just venting, but a few days later I received a box of tampons in the mail just in time for when I needed them. Thats true friendship!
