If so,
Should we ban fire extinguishers and hire more firemen?
Should we ban cars and make more busses?
The problem with banning guns and hiring more police officers is three fold:
1) The average response time for police is 15 minutes after you're already dead.
2) Banning guns creates more criminals, and they would just even out the greater police population.
3) If we ban guns, the person with the biggest knife wins. If we ban knives, the person with the biggest rock. If we ban rocks, what planet are we gonna live on?

We should only hire more police officers if we can be guaranteed that they will not be corrupt like the ones in New York City and Los Angeles used to be.

Oh. I get it then. You are so smart Mr. Proud Liberal. We should ban drugs, theft, murder, rape, abuse, drunk driving, money laundering, gang activity, and all the other bad things in the world too. That will show 'em... “Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” (Quoting Cesare Beccaria)----Thomas Jefferson "The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it."-- Thomas Jefferson “A free people ought...to be armed”--- George Washington “The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles.”--- Jeff Cooper, Art of the Rifle “Disarm the people- that is the best and most effective way to enslave them.”--- James Madison “Guns are our friends because in a country without guns, I'm what's known as "prey." All females are.”--- Ann Coulter “When the law disarms good guys, bad guys rejoice.”--- Ted Nugent “Firearms stand next in importance to the constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence … from the hour the Pilgrims landed to the present day, events, occurences and tendencies prove that to ensure peace security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable … the very atmosphere of firearms anywhere restrains evil interference — they deserve a place of honor with all that's good.”--- George Washington Do I need to continue?

If you ban a source of tax revenue, how are you going to hire more cops.

Baning guns would not create more criminals. It would make it so the criminals in existence could operate without the fear that law abiding citizens might have guns.

Absolutely true. Perhaps people do not like to admit it but, the police really don't "protect" us. They are there to arrest people who have already broken the law. I just want to see the look on a muggers face when I say "excuse me, can we finish this in about 10 minutes when the cops finally get here"

No, not at all.

Liberals want to ban guns for a variety of reasons. One of them is they believe in complete dependence on the government to care for and protect you. Not being able to use a gun continues this.

You can buy guns illegally on the streets.

That is where the criminals buy them.

There are a number of Israelis who sell guns illegally in the United States, and the government has done nothing to stop them.

Let everyone carry guns. Teach it as a subject in school. This completely eliminates criminal advantage. A gun is no more deadly than a car, we let our kids drive that weapon on a daily basis.

Yes we should. How else are we going to reduce the crowded population in this world?

The cops won't be much good if they don't have guns.
