Don't you know they love to catch you making a spelling error? They forget all about the question so they can make you feel like an idiot.

Yeah 'adds' or 'sums'.

[edit] note that the clue is 'PUTS two and two together'. so it isn't 'four' as 'four' doesn't put anything together. i had to laugh at 'orgy' and it's almost a great answer, but it's probably not right (unless you are doing a very peculiar crossword) because an orgy isn't necessarily four people.
