The mobo is an ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe. I just recently started placing the unit into Standby. Everything appears to shut down (Fans, lights etc) and the power light would start to flash. Usually I can press the power button on the front of the case and within seconds, the unit is back to my Windows Desktop. On this day, it didn't do it. I pressed the power button serveral times with no success. I then unplugge the computer from power and let it sit for a few minutes... plugged the unit back in and nothing. Absolutely nothing occurs. I've checked wire connections, plugs, cards, making sure they are all tight and properly installed. There is a green LED on the mobo that lights when the unit's power plug is attached to power. I've removed all cards, other external devices, pretty much everything to see if a hardware device was causing the issue and still nothing. How can I trouble shoot this or are there any suggestions on what I could do to get this unit back up and running? Thanks.

I had this once. I ended up having to move a bios jumper that was near the battery to a couple of different pins, wait ten seconds, then move it back. This allowed the machine to reboot. It reset something, I am sorry I don't remember what though. I would look at your mobo manual and see what jumpers can be reset like this and give it a try. It is a bit of a longshot, but it might help.
