Just because you rap doesn't make you gangster. And just because you're gangster doesn't mean you can rap.

Don't you agree?

I guess you are correct in some instances and some people are actual gangsters or at least organized dangerous
criminals who engage in rapping even though some aren't very entertaining...as far as skills. (delivery, breath control, vocabulary) etc. Rapping doesn't make you gangster although some gangsters or what many might call gangsters do rap.

But there are some cats who were gangsters in real life that can rap like the rap duo Clipse from VA they aren't faking the funk. My favorite song by them stresses your statement called I"m not you rapper". In this song Pusha T raps"I sold crack to the fiends when there kids couldn't eat, with this in mind I still didn't quit, and this is why I know that I ain't S%$T." They are actually really good which is rare and these are written about there actual experiences.

Also do you remember John Forte who rhymed with the Fugees wasn't really a "gangsta" rapper who was caught with keys of liquid cocaine worth 1.5 million dollars at the airport. Many would consider that pretty "gangsta" (in the descriptive having balls sense).

The Geto Boys could have been considered gangsters until they became entertainers because like the title of one of their songs " gangsters don't live that long"and my favorite "Damn it feels good to be a gangster" (which was used int eh movie Office Space to make a point and considered Bush and corporate men real gangsters).

The funniest story I ever heard was when a group I like dissed Redman, he thus saw them in a shopping mall and wsa rumored to smack them approaching them and saying "what the F were you thinking" , the story goes they didnt do anything...yet they call themselves certified gangsters. Redman actually is crazy I don't know about gangsters when I was 15 at a pay per view concert he actually walked off stage when the sound man pulled the sound on his set and proceeded to beat his *** on live pay per view. I was in tears laughing. This is why in that rhyme "Rockwilder" he states "don't let me do another pay per view to your crew." A writer for the source wrote he was slap boxing with friends on the new jersey turnpike with another car at speeds over 100 mph...Also on cribs he actually lived in the same apartment he has had since his first album and on various underground videos all of his crew has real guns in their set like ar15's and tek nines....they are called "the pack pistol posse". Even though I would consider him a real thug not a gangster...the current usage of the word would apply Redman to me is pretty "gangsta" and a very intelligent, creative, weed addicted hilarious antics for a real rapper. His new song Killa house is off the hook and the underground video is scary...one of the best rappers of all time.

Although as far as 50 goes getting shot doesnt make you gangster but maybe it does for the non-rapper shotting you...Some of the rappers that aren't my favorites on the west coast I admit are pretty "gangter" as an adjective. In fact one such group I listened to in the 90's were from the bloods and crips and had a feature album bacnging on wax featured below. there was even a prison album of rappers of real gangsters they werent that good though. I guess it is all your perception?? Power perceived is power achieved.

They weren't that talented but I would not question their authenticity well at least face to face.
Other gangsters are the Booyah Tribe a group of Samoans that are in and out of the pin...they are descent they are just not my type of rap...

So I guess I am trying to say there are gangsters...but not the 50 cents and Ja rule's and commercialized "gangsta's" of the late 90's and recent years.

yes, that's exactly right.

people there is a difference between a gangster and a rapper. a rapper is a person who talks a lot and usually gets paid for it. a gangster is someone in a gang, whether a street gang like bloods or crips or a member of the mafia or something of that sort.

I absolutely agree. We need some more rappers that don't act gangster or rap about stupid crap (money, ho3s, cars, clothes)
Rap has been declining because of this stereotype by all people of the "yo yo yo i shot my homies."

i might do it besides. Im not possibly in to conflict rapping to be common. I frequently ought to truly have a feeling of hate in the direction of the recipient. So i might do it, yet do not positioned me down. If i alter my innovations i visit digital mail it.
