With your military machine you'll once again defeat them quickly on the battlefield. Holding the country is another matter as we have seen in Iraq.
Anyway you will only increase the beliefs and resolve of the Muslim world that this is some sort of big Christian crusade and you'll go from the frying pan into the fire.

a reason why not, because all wars end up killing people that have nothing to do with what is bothering either side. shells sometimes do not explode and are picked up by kids years later killing and maiming them. Would ,American's like if they knew little steph could be out playing in twenty years time and pick up a unexploded shell from a war a generation ago and blow herself and her pals to kingdom come. That is the reality of war. it doesn't only end when one side wins there is always some unexploded bombs around. Look at Britain they are still digging up unexploded bombs dropped in world war 2

1: Wastes Money that could be spent on helping the unfortunate.
2:Makes the region hate America even more
3:If we want to be such a big and great nation, we should take the bigger man position and only attack if THEY attack us.
4: A war will provoke them and put us in more danger.

A good reason is a pseudo-patriotic attempt to be submissive toadies to corrupt officials and believe all of their lies without question.

We already have enough people hating us.
