My lawyer told me that regardless of situations in my life that my case doesnt look good and he was going to drop me because of lack of payment, that I should take the plea bargain, or come up with enough money to hire another lawyer. i was told in jail by my the court bails bonds person that reviews cases requesting court appointed lawyers that I wasnt eligible... I misse my sentencing date wich was rescheduled. My lawyer than informed me that the judge added an addendun to nmy court appearance that I must pay my lawyer 300.00 dollars onn day of sentencing or I would immediately be thrown in jail.. can I not get a court appointed lawyer???? Your lawyer shouldn't be lying to you, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Ask to see the Court Minute Order or other certified document which requires you to pay him $300.

There are different rules for court appointed attorneys, depending on the state. If the bail bondsman says that you won't qualify, then I imagine he's probably correct.

You waived your right to a court appointed attorney when you brought in your own. Regardless of your circumstances, you now have to either represent yourself, or hire someone new.

No, your attorney is not lying to you - he has every right to ensure he is paid what he is owed, and if he felt the need to ask the judge to stipulate an amount, he is well within his right to do so. Especially when you miss court dates and show the court, and your attorney, you are unreliable.

You need to get your life on a better track.
