Most towns have a carnival, that usually involves a bit of singing and dancing in between the drinking !

(Havana's carnival is often cancelled, though).

Often for new year there are concerts all over the place - with the TV coverage switching from one to the other.

OK I KNOW this for a fact,
THE HAVANA Carnival is held every year usually for 7 days by el Malecon is Held at the end of July or beginning of August...
It is awesome you will have a blast...
when you attend the carnival dress confortable, do not bring more then $10 in your pocket, and leave all your Jewelry at home since they might try to take it from you there...
Is not a bad croud but I seen it happen, and go with friends of groups of 4 or more DO NOT go alone....
hope that helped.....

The only celebrations presently being held in Cuba are government related and government controlled. The Carnival, Christmas, New Years, Havana Grand Prix, etc were cancelled by the government.
