Will any more sanctions be imposed? Will there be inspections?

And do you think that Iran is still trying to obtain nuclear power for military purposes?

No its not over and yes they are seeking nuclear weapons.
The issue was the military nuclear program, which means they utilization of military technology to deploy the warhead. There are many issues Iran refuses to address at the bequest of the IAEA.
1) With a country without a single working nuclear-power reactor, why are they spending so much money and resources on a secret uranium enrichment program.
2) The years of highly radioactive samples the IAEA Inspectors have uncovered in a variety of areas throughout the country. Its a smoking gun, but they just can't find where all the radioactive material is located or where it is being enriched as the program continues to move.
3) Recent documents and programs have been delivered by an Iranian Scientist to the west outlining how to shape uranium metal fragments into hemispheres (a technique ONLY used to weapons).
4) Inspectors uncovered a laptop in 2003 that had plans for a cone on a missle that were tailored to a specific spherical design that was specificly orientated to be that of a nuclear warhead.

So, no...this issue is far from dead. It does, however, rest in the hands that it rightfully should reside in...the International Community with the IAEA managing the inspection and report process.

Hope that helps.

Only to those people with their heads buried in their nether regions ... there may be more sanctions, but Iran will never allow on-site inspections until they have achieved what they want and hidden the results.

Iran is still processing and stockpiling enriched Uranium, which is only one step away from processing Plutonium. And anyone that believes the accuracy of that NIE report that still hasn't been released to the public is only stuffing their head further into regions where the sun don't shine.

That report (the one just released, NOT the actual NIE report) was written and released by the idjits at the State Department, as big a bunch of "blame America first" fools as have ever been congregated at one location.

Iran sits on the second largest reserve of oil in the world. What do they need nuclear energy for if not an attempt to develop a nuclear bomb?

According to the news today, President Bush is wanting Iran to be more forthcoming regarding their nuclear policy, possibly to allow inspections. America is not the only country that has nuclear weapons, Russia, China & England, to name a few, do have them as well. Yes, we are the only ones to have used them but by our used of them, perhaps, we have kept the others that have them from using them. Others could use their weapons agains us but, they know that it would be futile. We have a fail safe system that will automatically load & launch our weapons even if we are all dead! So, we would take them with us & they know it!

by way of fact an prolonged time in the past, the nuclear powers signed a treaty that the two agreed to oversight of nuclear weapons and labored to stay away from the proliferation of nuclear weapons to risky countries who might use nuclear weapons in an aggressive or terroristic way. Iran may be a form of countries.

The issue will reoccur until Israel is satisfied that no islamic nation will ever have offensive weapons capable of striking Israel.

With the UN against it and the US overstretched in Iraq and Afghanistan, the issue is likely to be shelved for the moment. But we will continue to see interesting expose's on the Iranian threat on various news networks which cater to that sort of thing.

Basically....NOT
The guys at MOSAD... the Israeli intel org, think Iran is still developing nukes.
This morning an important Iranian protest group sent a communique stating that they had evidence that Iran did stop Nuke developement in 2003 to fool UN inspectors...
But, they started back up again in 2004.

People, including former UN ambassidor and former proliferation negotiator John Bolton says that persons he has worked with in intel agencies reported non-activity besed on their own anti-war agenda instead of the raw data from intel sources...thats good enough for me...Iran is still at it and if we don't object or do anything about it, who will?

Gramma had a good point, its so funny that this should be released like this. My question....
IS BUSH PASSING ON THIS LITTLE GOODIE TO THE NEXT GUY? and DROPPING A HOT POTATOES OFF ON THE NEXT LUCKY PERSON THE SIT IN THE HOT SEAT....OVAL OFFICE?

as soon as Bush is out.

probably behind closed doors.

none in the near future.

i don't really care. the united states has there's and the reason why they don't think other countries should have any is because they are greedy, selfish and have a bully mentality.
they want to be feared, and known for being in control. the government need to take care of their own households and citizens. Talking about throwing stones (backstabbing, manipulating) and living in a glass house (clean up your own place before talking about others, they can see you).

well Bush just ticked them off... and Russia has been helping them under Putin who isn't going anywhere soon, so ya it can be assumed they will continue to strive for civilian purposes. When do sanctions and inspections stop for any rogue leader/ govt.? It is unclear to everyone whether they are striving for military purposes or not. Obviously it looks like it, but many assumptions are being made.

Bush is 0 for 2 now on WMD detection. Maybe he should leave the bomb sniffing to the dogs.
