if you dont remember someone, do you tell them you don't remember them or act like you know who they are?

I usually ask for them to remind me of where I knew them from.... i don't like pretending because it just leads me to calling them "man" or "buddy" ... then they get suspicious of why I keep calling them all these short names...and then the confrontation of "hey, what is my name?" and I'll just take random guess and say ... "Michael....?" ... cause you can't lose with a common name like Michael... hhhmmmm... why am i writing so much....

I usually tell them I can't remember. I mean if I don't most people today understand I think. I mean we see so many people and talk to so many people that it would be almost impossible to remember everyone. I mean I have met women that I thought were really beautiful and well are really pretty in my opinion, and I still forget their names. I know that doesn't look good but I just can't remember. The sad thing is I have really wanted to get to know some of them better but after you forget a woman's name, I mean there is no chance she will ever think about going out with you. But in short, I will almost always politely say I do not remember when I know you from, or your name.
