I don't necessarily mean "fanatic" as an insult.

Huckabee fanatics are generally religious neocons, who want to continue the status quo.

Paul fanatics are generally freedom loving conservatives who are tired of a big intrusive (expensive) govt.

Huckabee supporters are generally okay with a large tax and spend mentality. Huckabee's record as a whole in taxing, borrowing, spending and expanding the activities of government makes him the biggest taxer and spender in Arkansas history.

Ron Paul supporters are usually at least half in the Libertarian camp, which calls for minimal government. Ron Paul will not vote for any measure that is not authorized by the Constitution, including measures he himself brings up! Ron Paul DID in fact introduce tens of millions of dollars in pork. Then he voted against them. While that may seem like starting a fire then saying it's not your fault it got out of control, it DOES make a strange kind of sense.

So what's the difference? Mainly what the role of government should be. Huckabee supporters want a big government, Ron Paul supporters want a tiny one.

The Ron Paul fanatics actually make sense.

They are both Baptists. However, Ron Paul probably believes in evolution since he has a more scientific background.

Actually, I am inclined to favor the two of them over other Republican candidates since they seem more honest and forthright. At first I couldn't believe someone who did not believe in evolution could be trusted with the presidency. However, Huck does not seem to blindsided in his political views by his religon. As far as I'm concerned, I don't care if the president is a fundamentalist Baptist, a Mormon or an atheist if he/she is the best man (or woman) for the job.
