I have worked in the entertainment industry for over 20 years and have accumulated a wealth of knowledge. When I started out, I didn't have much information and spent countless weeks, months and even years learning the ropes by trial and error. I know how valuable information and resources are to people who are starting out from scratch. So I recently decided to use some of my spare time to create a blog with Disney Channel casting notices, audition information, information on getting an agent, demo-reels, resumes, etc. There are far too many scam artists out there who take advantage of those actors who are trying to make their dreams come true. The information and casting notices I provide are totally free and legitimate. Hopefully I can save some people a few bucks and a lot of footwork.

(I have also created a sister-site Hannah Montana Auditions, and a general Acting Auditions site)

Sincerely,

Alan Baltes

The question is, where can an Agent find a good actor.

First, find out the procedure in the city where you live for getting an agent. It is NOT the same in every USA city.

Ask your actor friends to introduce you to their Talent Agent.
If you get an agent and you book acting roles, you obviously have a good agent.

Acting is about networking. Whenever you audition, listen to what other actors are saying about their agents, or, agents they will have appointments with.

You can learn a lot just by eavesdropping on conversations among other actors.

1: A good agent can be found online or through local schools. Make sure the agency is legitimate before doing anything for/with them.

2: An agency shouldn't cost anything. They make money from jobs you complete. You will need to possibly pay to get experience and headshots. Also, modeling schools are usually a waste of money.

3: Most larger cities have local agencies, since I don't know where you are from, you can find the agencies.
(See Q1.)

Here is my answer to another question like this.

You need to gain LOTS of experience, but paying for modleing school is unnesscesary. You should gain experience by getting involved in local theatres or school theatres/plays. It would also help to take acting classes.

Then you need to create a resumae with your talents, contact information, experience, etc.

Then you need to have headshots made. They can cost anywhere from $100 to $600.

You need to send a cover letter, a headshot, and a resumae to local agents (look them up.) and hope someone calls wanting to represent you. From there, your agent will book you modeling jobs and auditions for acting parts.

I hope this helped!!

Good Luck!!

Agents cost nothing! Anyone that charges you to be your agent before getting you work is take advantage of you. As for the rest, good luck. Work with your parents.
