180 Mile Per Hour Winds

There was a wolf, a cat, and a hen.
All my king's horses...
All my king's men...
Still...no help comes.

I wait for the storm...there will be
No witch flying outside my
Window.
Not tonight.
Not this late hour.

Turkeys in the front yard,
Chickens huddled at the front
Door,
Wolf under my window...
Silence of Coyotes in the
Canefields.
Still...no help comes.

Winds are from the East.
Rains are from the East...
Three days now.

The radio talks of a monster
In the Gulf...crawling, stopping
To look around...choose oaks
Hundreds of years old...
Choose Plantation mansions...
Winds...150mph.

It will flatten the near-harvest
Canefields...sugar prices will
Soar.
It will prune the Oaks.

It will shift the house I live in
Three times...
Winds...180mph.

I stay in Florida and confident I easily have been via many hurricanes. for my section the hurricane itself, winds and rain are no longer risky, a minimum of no longer in comparison to what comes next. are not getting me incorrect, Katrina took lives in spite of the undeniable fact that it replaced into no longer the wind and rain. It replaced into the breach of the levy, floods, that take lives. the main threatening component to a hurricane comes after. No ability, each and all of the telephone poles blown down. whether you ought to call 911 how might they locate you. No street indicators. street lights are out so in case you will detect a street that's satisfactory force very heavily. elevate stations that pump sewage can no longer paintings without electricity, watch the place you step. that's a blessing to have cool climate after a hurricane. in case you have greater rain or warm circumstances existence may be depressing. very few shops are open of any form. possibly the main threatening subject is the exchange that occurs in human beings. the guideline of regulation ceases to exist. in case you notice somebody looting a 7-11 after a hurricane are you able to "forged the 1st stone" ? are you able to blame somebody for taking a can of soup. are not getting me incorrect, many reliable issues take place after a hurricane. you would be taught your around the corner neighbor's call. human beings tend to proportion issues. ought to borrow some eggs, no concern they might destroy besides in some days. want a tree cut back up, no concern I easily have a chain observed. lots greater suited to be doing some thing, something than purely sitting around waiting. The community golf direction, be arranged to be sure it replaced right into a non everlasting land fill. via the way the potent o.ok.tree will fall lots beforehand of a palm tree. Bulletin boards and indicators are between the 1st issues to circulate. issues with great floor section would be very much effected via winds.

Actually if you check my yahoo Q&A you'll see that I'm nudging my way into this category.

I "WORKED" the Andrew aftermath, and with no offense describing it could hardly be poetic; much like Katrina and New Orleans; Though I am a poet, and do agree that we express through a need or desire to.

I suppose in a similar fashion WARS are written about,,,and I have.

"IT" came; it conquered; we scattered and wandered
not knowing the moments ahead.
We lost; it won; but couldn't defeat some spirit
Until such time as is destined; we will struggle to survive; we will choose to be alive;
WE will be the Phoenix."
