This is reasonable. For those who think it is high, remember that this is a business. If done right, that $20 is not all profit. There are taxes, possibly permits transportation etc. involved. I also would charge by the job, not the hour though. If the customer knows what the price is there should be no problem with payment. If you charge by the hour some people are going to accuse you of taking longer just to charge more. Get good at estimating your time. Also if you charge by the job it is up to you how fast to work, makes a difference when you start to get tired. That is hard work
Edit: What difference does your age make anyway? I pay for work done, I don't care if you are 12 or 50.

It depends on what your costs are if you have any. You should figure out wear and tear on your equipment assuming you are using more than just a shovel. If you are putting salt or ice melt down I hope you are charging your customers for the product plus a markup and not including the salt in the $20 per hr. I wouldn't shovel for $20 per hour if I was using my shovel and buying the salt myself. Think of the time and gas to go get the salt. Just something to think about.

If you are hard working and doing a good job $30-40 would be okay for this service in Indy. Use ice melt not salt.

It would depend on what the labor rate was for physical work in your area. Where I live the going rate is 10-15 dollars per hour, 20 seems pretty steep.

$20.00 per hour sounds very good, but it probably depends on where you live.
