I'd say that it depends on the fabric. You can always by "Dryel" and wash the pants in the washing machine. I have used Dryel before and it works pretty good.

I have washed almost all my clothes that are "dry clean only." It can depend on the fabric. I would wash in cold and use the gentle cycle if it's an option. I've never bothered with different detergent, but something like Woolite can only help. Don't dry! If you absolutely must dry them, use low heat and take them out while still damp.

As I understand it, by law manufacturers must give care instructions, but they don't have to give ALL options. So, they put "dry clean only" on many things so you can't sue over bad instructions.

What are they made of? I have successfully washed 100% wool coats, pants, etc... in Sun and Earth brand dishwashing soap, believe it or not. A few things to remember:

Use COLD WATER. Gently squeeze the suds through. Rinse and gently press out the water. Lay flat to dry.

If the pants are wool and you do this, most likely they will be fine! If they are another fabric, I'm not sure. But I've done this with wool numerous times no problemo!

Check the fabric. If it's 100% polyester, you can safely hand wash the garment in cold water or on the delicate cycle. If it's a different type of fabric, you can buy a bag for dry cleaning clothes at your supermarket or Wal-mart and put that in the laundry machine.

A lot of manufacturers put "Dry Clean Only" on all of their clothes because they don't want to hassle with all of the requirements of the labeling laws, but they don't realize that is illegal as well.

It depends on the fiber, but most are okay to hand wash in cold water and air dry.

Yes, use cold water, gentle detergent and the gentlest cycle possible, or hand-wash. Hang to dry and, if necessary, press with a warm to hot iron using a pressing cloth. I do it all the time because I don't want to make the trips to the cleaners!

yes i mean when things go to the dry cleaners they tumble like a normal front loader but they wash in chemicals instead of water so its still liquid. so theres no big difference its just chemicals and not water which do the same to the clothes. so yes but do it on a delicate warm cycle

If you use cold water, gentle cycle and Woolite it should be ok, but when they come out of the machine, strtch them to the correct size and then hang them or lay them out to dry.
