Yes, sadly most old people get to be hypochondriacs, because, let's face it, they are sick all the time.

It's funny when you are young to think about how much old folks complain, but when you know you only have 10 years left with any luck, and your on 30 meds a day, it's kind of hard not to be depressed and miserable, especially when the world would rather do without you! This is sadly what I've come to realize, although I am neither old nor one (yet!)

Something we can all look forward to unfortunately!

Something to think about when you see those hypochondriacs, although yes, you are right, some are completely intolerable, but mind you they were intolerable BEFORE they got ill!!!!! ;~)

I have a SIL who panics every time she has a pimple, a sore in her mouth, etc. etc. etc. She is so afraid of dying. That is almost an illness in and of itself I guess. In this day and age however, it's not even unwarranted but you can't live your life worrying about dying all the time can you?
