yea, its normal. i usually have it really bad the first 2 days then it slows down. but if you dont like pads, you could always try tampons. actually i prefer them. cuz you dont have to worry so much bouts moving the wrong way and what not lol. but if your still not secure with that then try both.anyways its what ever. everything will be fine though. it really just takes some getting use to that is all. why dont you have a talk with your mom, or nurse or another lady in your life. im sure they will be able to help you mmore than us, but anyways good luck!
oh and also, if you do have a problem with leaking then i suggest you bring extra sets of close whereever you go. that way if something does happen then you will have a back up.

It is normal for some women to have a bit of heavy bleeding for a couple days during the period. The staining thru the pad could mean that you don't have a pad strong enough to cover some of the heavy flow during the day.
But if you are having to change a pad every hour that can be a sign of something wrong.
I would recommend letting your mom know what's going on as well so that she can help you keep an eye on this.

it should slow down after your first couple of days. I have had my period for a while and I still bleed a lot and I have to use a tampon and a pad. Try using a tampon and pad and changing them between classes. Buy the pads with a greater absorbency like instead of regular use super. maybe try the same with tampons. The doctor can put you on birth control to help lighten your period and to help with cramps.

Ya it's totally normal to have lots of bleeding on your first couple days. Nobody is the same, so some people may have lots of bleeding throuhout their whole period, or not much at all. Try using tampons if you're worried about stains or changing your pad more

buy the extra absorbent pads. make sure you change them every few hours. if you keep the same pad on, its going to end up leaking out. It is normal to have a lot of blood...it normally slows down after a couple of days.

Some women have really heavy periods... especially during the first couple of days. You should try to get a more absorbent pad and change them frequently.
Unfortunately, there's not much else that you can do.

You have not stated your age or if this is the beginning of you ever have a period or anything so this is difficult to answer. Do you also wear a tampon? I used to have to wear both. Yes, it is NORMAL to bleed a lot the first couple of days....you may need to change it more often.
