some additional details:
I have been on the varsity swimming team

The problem, of course, is that your SAT score is relatively strong, but your GPA is average, and these (especially NYU and Hopkins) are highly competitive schools which can get plenty of applicants with BOTH high scores and grades. Your grades suggest that maybe you haven't tried very hard in the past, since you seem to be so capable based on your test scores, and that isn't terribly appealing to most schools.

2200 is the backside score available for a 99th percentile score on the SAT; you could understand how marvelous that is. that is real that are many precise 99th percentile SAT and ACT pupils using to those colleges. This surely relies upon on your style rank; in case you're in precise 10%, you have gotten stable possibilities at JHU/NYU and BU can act as risk-free practices. interior the journey that your GPA places you under precise 25%, JHU admission hazard could be impossible. JHU: attain, with the aid of low GPA NYU: Low attain BU: risk-free practices/tournament in certainty

2200 is the lowest score possible for a 99th percentile score on the SAT; you should realize how impressive it is. It is true that are many top 99th percentile SAT and ACT students applying to these schools.
This all depends on your class rank; if you are in top 10%, you will have good chances at JHU/NYU and BU can act as safety. If your GPA puts you below top 25%, JHU admission chance would be very unlikely.

JHU: Reach, due to low GPA
NYU: Low Reach
BU: Safety/Match basically

What do you mean by competitive courses? If you've taken basically all AP's and honors classes, then you have better chances.
I think JHU will be a huge reach. NYU will be a reach. You're most likely to get into BU out of all those.
