Obviously he's extremely valuable to that team. The offensive dimension of team would shrink 5 fold without his long ball and TD threat on the field.

That's a very interesting question. Randy Moss is a premier receiver. He always has been. There is a lot of stuff he never needed to do. He professed to never stretch. He just needed to be motivated. He's had a couple of injury plagued years with bad quarterbacks. Moss stretches the field, is fast and causes defenses to always account for him.
I think that the Patriots would not be nearly as good with out him.
Their other receivers don't really strike fear into hearts of defensive coordinators. Quite often you see a number 2 receiver who suddenly becomes the number 1 and the stats just don't make the transition.
The number 1 receiver, not only has to be good, he also has to put up big numbers when getting the best CB and double coverage. They truly are special athletes.
So while Welker has put up some great numbers, there is no reason to assume that without a Randy Moss, he could do that.
Combine a really good qb like Brady with a top notch receiver like Moss and that opens it up for other receivers and the running game. Also, had they had a Marvin Harrison, or a Chad Johnson, I think the results would be similar.

everybody knows he (coupled with stallworth) is the reason the pats are putting up such ridiculous numbers. People are afraid to blitz Brady because they want to keep as much coverage out, but that means you have to be able to create pressure with ur front four, which most teams CANNOT do on a regular basis. The only teams that can consistently do that? Philly, Ravens, the Giants (believe it or not), Packers (when they're healthy) and the Cowboys (if they have the lead).
Obviously, the Pats won games without Moss but that's because they had the best playcalling plus a video camera. Now they have basically two #1 recievers and Welker who is a typical slot reciever (short and quick).
I think they would have lost a game by now if they didn't have Moss. They should have lost versus Baltimore but that's another discussion. I'd say 11-2 (lost to the Colts and Pitt).

He is very valuable to the Pats they wouldn't be doing as well without him and Brady would not have as many touchdowns without him but the pats would still be going for a fourth title in 7 years and Moss wouldn't be as success full without Brady either.I think the biggest difference in the Pats Pass Offense this year is Wes Welker if you cover Moss he is gonna have 7-10 receptions if you cover him Moss will get 3-4 biggies a game if you play against a weak secondary like Pittsburgh they both have career weeks.

Tom Brady is the man. He makes the best use of all his players. The Pats would win the superbowl without Moss, like they've done in the past, but Moss certainly helps. I think Tom was instrumental in bringing Moss to NE.

On most teams he would probably be the key player. With New England, that has a decent special teams as well as the 4th best defense in the league (probably will move up to 2 or 3 by the end of the season), his loss would prevent the scores from being run up, but I think New England would still be able to pull off the wins.

The Pats need Moss. Ya they are one heck of a team with or without him. However look what happens when Moss is taken out of the picture. in Philly the eagles came with in 3 points of beating the pats and they really out played them. They lost because of a bad play call in the 4th quarter. In Baltamore the Ravens also came with in 3 points of it and once again out played that pats and then lost because of a bad coaching decision. So in my book with Moss out of the picture they would have lost to at least the Colts and probobly a couple of others to. But they would still be the number one team in their div and probobly number 2 or 3 in the AFC.

Well did he ever have a season like this without a deep threat like Moss I'd guess Brady would be in the low 30s without Mossy.

He's valuable, but he's not irreplaceable. They may not have had as many tds.. but then Brady would have thrown to, Welker, Stallworth, Watson, Gaffney, Vrabel etc.... and the list goes on... Brady always throws to "the open man"...
