i usually use birth control pills non stop to totally skip my period but this month i was a couple of days late getting my prescription refilled

When using the pill to stop periods it can take several months for the body to adjust to being on the medication that way. In the process of trying to adjust breakthrough bleeding (which is bleeding that acts like a period but isn't) can occur.

Also, sometimes a bit of bleeding can occur as a result of being off the medication but when going back on the pill things will get regulated.

I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.

Birth control shouldn't cause you to skip a period completely. You should have a normal one every month. Provided you aren't on the type that allows a normal period every 3 months or so.

Wait for the correct day to start (Usually the sunday after you get your period). Otherwise it wont be effective.

Sorry but you can't.

You should get your prescription filled during your third week, so this doesn't happen again. That's the way I do it.
