What model is this????Need more information!!!!1983 Mercedes used K-jetronic fuel injection. Chances are your fuel lines need to be cleaned and your fuel metering box as well. If the plunger inside your metering box is sticking, it will cause this problem. The cure is simple. Get engine running and loosen and re-tighten the fuel lines one at a time to remove debris in fuel system. Also, loosen banjo bolt fittings at bottom of fuel injector metering box housing and run spray Gum-out through to UN-stick plunger. Always use Mobil gas, it really does keep the engine clean. Also, use Bosch Platinum or iridium spark plugs. E-mail me with the results or any other questions. If the car is high mileage, it may need the timing chain replaced, or at least, to clean out the tensioner piston with solvent to keep chain tight. It is operated by oil pressure.

check fuel pump relay first, then check crankcase pressure senor, then fuel pump. I had the same issue and it was the crankcase sensor and fuel pump relay. the pumps on a Benz rarely go out.

It may not be getting fuel, and if not, my best bet would be that you need a new fuel pump.

Does it just hesitate? If so you may need to use a higher octane gas. that happened to me anyway.
