As I grew older money became an issue so I learned to expect less and less until we couldnt afford much of anything for christmas. The least I got one year was a 20$ card for some toy store and that was it.

Things I would never get. With my overactive imagination I imagined cars and kittens and imacs. Not one of those things has ever been under the tree! I asked for an ipod and when I didn't get it I bought it myself. (Teens should do that instead of begging for everything and being spoiled)
I got clothes mostly and some things I had never seen before. I am usually pleasently surprised. (It's nothing outrageous just something I have never thought of)
I have a better time when I expect nothing. That way I am happier. I try to focus on other peoples presents.

I don't expect to get anything for Christmas, I'm 25.
I appreciate any and everything people get for me, but its not expected.
I will never understand why people "expect" to get anything after 12.

Gift cards and money. When your older you hard to shop for so you mostly get money of giftcards to your favorite store. Most teens are ok with it.

mainly just money. when you're a kid, you want everything you see on tv. it takes more effort to actually think of things to put on a christmas list, than to just go shopping with money sometime after christmas when there are a buttload of sales.
