Try some of these.
1. Get what dogs do (Bark - get a piece of bark, but one person brought actually brought back doggy doo!)
2. A metal miniature portrait of an animal or person (Do your coins have animals or people on, then you can specify a certain one? e.g. here there's an echidna on the five cent piece.)
3. An envelope or business card of a local business with their letterhead on.
4. Find a feather.
5. Give clues to a certain kind of business and they have to locate them. e.g. Where would you find a mitre, a straight line and a punch? A hardware store.
6. They have to identify certain types of trees or plants from the clues. Like this kind of tree is all that's left after a fire - answer "Ash", or a tree that sounds like an animal's cover - Answer "Fir".
7. Have them bring back 5 different pieces of trash - good for the environment too. Or 5 different items that are recyclable.
I'm sure that you can think of more.

I think this really depends on the theme/mood of the hunt. I host a halloween party where most of the tasks involve taking pictures of certain things or the participants doing certain activities. This adds a lot of room for creativity. Feel free to message me through Answers if you are interested in pointers related to photo scavenger hunts or other general hunt guidance.

Make it through the city or something...give each person a map and that can get clues along the way if they can figure it out...and give out like movie passes...if its for young kids i would say go to the zoo and to get clues they half to now and Learn about the different animals so they get to the next check point and a prize for them could be candy, small toys, or even DVDs if you want to spend so money. but any way good luck with that.

Make a list of very random real life things. Let the players team up and give each of them a camera or tell them to bring their own. Have them drive around looking for these things and the one who reports back first wins. For Ex: some body's butt they could take pic take a pic of it someones in the group.
