It depends on why the cameras were there, who authorized them and why, and if your house is the "big house".

It depends.

If you are renting state-owned property and the camera you're complaining about is a security camera aimed at public spaces, it is unlikely that there is anything you can do. It may we be in your rental contract that they can video whatever happens on their property.

OTOH if you own your home and someone came into your house and planted a camera, then you've got a lawsuit. Contact the ACLU.

The state may have a defense if they got a police warrant, but they have to prove that they have a reason.

We still have a Fourth Amendment right to privacy in our homes.

Do they grow into movie cameras or do they just grow up to be camera trees?

If they recorded sounds, you might have a case for wire tapping, which is a criminal charge. Only thing you may be able to claim in punitive damages. Otherwise probably not.

No. In order to file suit, you would have to show that you were somehow harmed and sustained monetary damages.
