Respect!! {self respect!!!}

You can sell a million CD's ... but without respect, you might not sell a million more!

Album sales are for the corporate office... respect is for the artist bringing the music to our ears! If we dont respect them chances are we wont listen much after the first single.

Its real easy to fall off, as we all know. But with respect its also real easy for us to purchase a CD just bc we like the artist. You're more likely to purchase a CD or attend a show of someone you like and respect then someone you dont. We are the ones who make them go far IMO. And we do this based on how we feel about them. If we RESPECT them enough to support them.

Just my two cents! =} Have a nice night! ♥

Well, for me to keep listening to them, respect. For the record companies to keep giving them the time of day, sales.
So as far as their career goes, sales play an unfortunately big part in it.
But as far as having the right to call yourself an "artist" goes, then it's respect all the way. Nelly's last album might have sold more than KRS-One's, but it's KRS-One who'll always be thought of as one of hip hop's greats, not Nelly.
