I think the only way the GOP has a chance is with a more moderate but fiscally conservative candidate like Rudy because the middle will probably not side with the further right candidate.

You are right about one thing. Huckabee would be a disaster for the Republicans. A Christian Right candidate will turn off everyone from liberal to moderate Democrats and just about ALL Independents. A Baptist preacher as President? Just not happening. I don't even think Rudy can beat Hillary. The only Republican who has a shot at that is McCain, and he's not even being seriously considered. Strange.

EDIT: Check out the link I'm leaving from Real Clear Politics. They take all polls and average them and they still show Hillary beating any Republican out there. The one that comes closest to beating her is McCain.

The GOP does not want a moderate person. Just like the liberals don't want a moderate canidate.

Republicans have failed their base with overspending and illegal immigration. A good conservative canidate will win, because Hillary is not very likable. Obama would have a better chance.

I honestly feel, that a Christian Right candidate is what our country needs. Our country will probably face many difficult times in these next few years. I don't feel Hillary has the power nor the tough responsibility to take care of a nation, nor herself anyways. I Know, That even though statistics and polls are saying Hillary is the leading Democratic canadidate, it is not over. I am certain, almost any Republican Canadidate can take her.

Hilary will beat herself, the KKK will take care of Obama, Rudy and Mitt will negate each other and we will have Thompson/Paul or Paul/Thompson in the White house, I'll take either ticket over any others out there!!

I believe it will the Dems election to lose, it doesn't matter who runs for them. I thought the Cristian right are backing Rudy on Pat Robertson's recommendation.

Recent polls show Hillary would loose to any of the Republican Candidates.

Recent polls also show that Hillary may loose to Obama.

I believe that if a socially conservative candidate pledged to immediately end the war in Iraq they would defeat Hillary.

Are you aware of the NEA endorsement of Huckabee? Don't be so sure mainstream America isn't socially conservative.

Huckabee, yes. So much of what he says makes sense and he's worth listening to and considering. Romney, no. He not only believes in more than one god, he believes in wearing "sacred garments", a non-existent star called Kolob that shines on his man-god named Elohim and us, he believes that Jesus and Satan are brothers, he believes in a language that never existed (reformed Egyptian) and he believes that American Indians are really Jewish.

Ron Paul and Guilliani are also both worth listening to and considering.

Let us hope that anybody beats Billary, and send her packing back to New 'YOAOK' or Arkansas, where ever she wants, as long as she drags Billy Boy with her, and fades forever into oblivion. ( I feel sorry for 'oblivion' with her there, forever)
