and then, we are going to his sister's house for christmas and I don't know if I should get her something or not and what do I get her? He said it doesn't matter, but I don't want to get something from her and then I have nothing in return. Oh, this is (obviously) our first Christmas together.

What do I do???

It depends how close and how well you know his mother. Generically maybe a vase or a figurine. If you know her well I would suggest something more personal. As for the sister a bouquet of seasonal flowers, candy or a bottle of wine.

How lovely that they are welcoming you so warmly to your first Christmas with them.
Perhaps just buy her something fairly neutral until you get to know her a little more personally. Stuff like... fancy biscuits or chocolates... nice talc or soap... basket of goodies (you can buy ready made hampers of all shapes and sizes).
As for the sister... I would buy her much the same. Even if she doesn't end up giving you a present it would be a nice gesture seeing as you are spending Christmas at her home.

Have a lovely Christmas with, what seems like, a nice family.

Um, I propose to in basic terms get the mummy a modern. you may provide the brother a modern if he's below 11 years. in case you gave the dad a modern, it would be awkward. What im sayin is: Get the mummy a basket of issues she could prefer, alongside with cookie packets, rings, a card. Giftcards! a movie the family members could watch. propose PG 13 etc.

If you are going to someone's house for a holiday I would suggest bring a small something, just as a thank you.
