First, there are 2 main rules. 1) Make this all about her- whatever you do, tailor it specifically to her needs. There are tons of unoriginal ideas out there that you can make original by (for example) having her favorite flowers for her, playing "your song" in the background, etc. Make sure she knows that you put lots of time and effort into crafting this experience just for HER 2) Make sure she doesn't suspect it. Even if you two have talked about getting married, there are ways and times to catch her off guard. You want her to always remember the instant that she realized what was going on.

Just some general notes, this is a huge experience, and one that your girlfriend has probably been looking forward to her whole life. Not to add pressure, but you need to go all out. I'm not neccessarily just talking about money- but just create an entire experience that she'll never forget - down to every last detail. You cannot "go overboard" with this! Also, I would suggest that you do it on a weekend or some time when you don't have to just go straight back to work the next day. Do it sometime you can just spend a day or two together being excited to be newlyweds, telling family and friends, etc. I would NOT do it in front of family and friends, however. This moment is about the two of you- not anyone else. You're nto going to want to spend the time afterward talkign to other people and getting congratulated- you'll just want to be together!

As for specific ideas:
I would avoid nice restaurants- they've been done before and it just shows that you couldn't think of anything better. :) Although, my fiance took me to a great place after he proposed so we could celebrate, and that was fun. My dream was to get engaged on the top of the Empire State Building. I'm not suggesting that for you neccessarily, but does she have a favorite place, and would it be in the budget to make a surprise trip there? My husband made a treasure hunt for me. He had given the first clue to the barista at Starbucks (because he knows I go there everyday- see? He proved he knew me!) and then I followed the clues around to different places within Seattle that we had visited while we were dating. Each clue was in the form of an adorable little poem he made up- it was really sweet. Finally, I ended up on a beach with him, and he was waiting there for me. It was really fun!

There are lots of ideas out there, and feel free to do any of them. Like I said though, with any idea- make sure you personalize it for your girlfriend. A couple other things, I think it's really nice if you can figure out a way to get the whole thing on tape, or have a picture taken of the instant you propose- you and she will cherish the image/footage forever! Second, it will be nice, and mean so much to her if you can make her feel really special and beautiful. For instance, if you told her that you had a cocktail hour for work or something so she would get all dressed up and feel pretty. You could even surprise her with a fun outfit and makeover first! The sky is the limit...Remember- you CANNOT go too far with this one. You only have one shot at it, and the memory will be there forever. Make it worth it. Make her dreams come true. :)

Good luck!

There are so many cuts ways to propose. Many of them arent original but they are great. Have a romantic dinner out and have her come back to your place and have a friend or someone you trust to light a ton of candles and write out will you marry me in roses pedals. or if she likes sports take her to a game and have them write it on the big screen and while she looks get down on one knee. or if you dedice to do it during a sunset make sure to take her there a few times before so she doesn't suspect anything when you do it. Good Luck and Congrats ahead of time!!

Yeah just be creative...you know her best. But just make sure that it totally unexpected, and she has no idea that you are about to propose. Like for example if yall were cleaning the house or something and she goes in the kitchen to mop the floor, you have "will you marry me" on the floor spelled with mopping detergent. I mean its weird but different... and I'm pretty sure she will love it.

Ask her to do your laundry "could you go get the laundry basket for me?" Set up a camera on the spot so you will be able to see her reaction when you replay the tape...and when she goes to grab the basket have her ring in the box (open) sitting on top of her favorite flowers. Make sure you fill the laundry basket with fresh towels and not dirty underwear.

Then she will not only have the ring and your commitment to her she will also have a video to show all of her friends and family!

Go in advance to a nice restaurant.

Arrange for the matri'd to bring you the ring with or before your dessert course.

If they can bring it on a platter with 2 glasses of champagne, even better.

Make sure it's a reputable place since you will be leaving the ring with them.

Make it all about her. Say, if she's a geek, take her to a comic book convention and propose to her in costume. If she likes sports, take her to a game. If she likes horses, take her on a horse ride and propose to her in the middle of the woods.

you may desire to verify first, are you going to compliment the hoop or are you going to enable her decide for it? in case you may quite her decide for it, i prefer to propose getting a cute little subsitute till you pass ring paying for jointly (hopefuuly that day or day after today). i think of romance is definately the significant. A romantic weekend away, rose petals, candles, etc. It basically contraptions this kind of particular scene and its not considered one of those scientific care we get on a daily basis so its super to sense particular. Order room provider and smash her. depart your notion till the tip, to construct the temper. Very romantic!
