This is like asking "How high is Up?"

As Indiana Jones said, "It ain't the years, sweetheart, it's the milage".

NEO Pirate is close, but I think the phrase was, "When you realize death is NOT going to pass you by, when you stop thinking this aging thing is ok for everyone else, but doesn't pertain to YOU, that this is NOT all some cosmic clerical error which will eventually be straightened out, when you realize you too will just END one day, is the day you stop growing up and start growing old."

Your only as old as you feel. I used to think 32 was old. When I was 14. Now 32 seems young.

people or things?

For people -I would say you're as old as you feel. Some days I feel about 20 - other days it could be about 102.

For things - I would say they are old when they hold no value and have to be replaced.

No, not 32.

Old is when you don't worry anymore about plucking your nose and ear hair.
