Union Set means : ALL elements in BOTH sets.
Set A = {2, 4, 6, 7}
Set C = {2, 5, 6, 7}
Let U = union
{2, 4, 6, 7} U {2, 5, 6, 7} = {2, 4, 5, 6, 7}
So, the UNION of Set A and Set C = {2, 4, 5, 6, 7}
Intersection means: elements where sets overlap.
If you intersect Set B and Set C, you will find that only the numbers 5 and 7 appear in BOTH of these sets.
Let n = intersect
Set B n Set C = {5, 7}

A U C leads to a set with all the elements of both A and C. So that is {2,4,5,6,7} The intersection of this set with B includes ONLY those elements common to both. So that is {5,7}

All this means is that you take all the objects in set A or set B. Call this new set set Z. Then you see what objects are in BOTH this new set(set Z) and set C. your answer is 2, 5, 6, 7
