I LOVE grits. With lots of butter, and some salt and pepper. My birds likes them too. I give her a little spoonful of plain grits and she grasps it in her talons and eats it like we do, lifting the spoon to her beak to take some more.
I remember as a child getting up in the morning and Mom was making breakfast. Sausage with gravy and fried eggs, toast, orange juice. Sometimes we'd put the sausage gravy on the grits and that was SO tastey. she'd make extra so the next day we could have fried grits. She'd put the extra into a cake pan and press them firmly and refrigerate. The next day, she'd cut into squares and fry in butter. THOSE were good too! I miss my Mom and Dad.
