Sometimes. Most of the time if I do get any appreciation it's at work....very rarely any from the family. A few of my coworkers are very good at expressing gratitude when I've helped them with a huge project. It's nice to feel appreciated =o)

Not really, but that's cool:
*My kids lived with their mom after she divorced me.
**They lived with her for a few months, and they are so totally screwed up:
***"Revolving door" boyfriends exposed to my kids, being farmed out to friends and relatives during her "long" weekends, no accountability vis-a-vis schoolwork, behavior, etc.
**They love being with her on the weekends, and have said MANY times how they want to live with her (she doesn't want this ...), and how much they hate me.
**I'll just keep on doing my best for them (i.e., cooking, cleaning, accountability, activities, etc.), until they grow out of this, their mom remarries and takes them back, or until they're old -and responsible- enough to go out on their own (post-college, etc.).
A dad's gotta do what a dad's gotta do.
