Did you know that the Nubians ruled Egypt for a number years? The Nubians came from modern day Sudan and they were a Black people. I did a project on this once and my professor said it was a controversial subject. Its controversial because who wants to hear a powerful civilization was run by Blacks?

Some great Egyptians rulers like Queen Tiye and even her son Amehotep had black in them. Amenhotep married Nefertiti.

Black people came from a great roots-we need to rememeber this!

This is history and it is recorded. It was not just the arabs that made Egypt it was the Nubians (Blacks) as well. Queen Tiye was Black, and Amenhotep was Black as well. They were known to be of Nubian descent. Look at Rome, it once was the most powerful force in the world-it may not be anymore but it dosent mean that it never happened!

yes, I did.

There is evidence that would suggest that Nubio was actually a progenitor of "egypt."

But we will never know the truth since the british flooded the ruins of ancient nubia beneath Lake Aswan when they contructed the Aswan dam.

My brother went to Egypt like everyone to see the pyramids, old temples, and Sphinx. The group was traveling up the Nile River when some kind of problem arose where they couldn’t continue on; it was flood, debris, or something. They had to wait in a cove away from the main river. The tour guide had left and returned a day later by small boat. The trip still couldn’t continue the tour but the guide didn’t want the people taking back to the U.S. tales of a bad trip. Evidently the tour guide had asked the authorities while he was gone if he could take the group somewhere else, to a place not visited by tourists. They moved the tour boat out to this very special place. As my brother walked from the old wood dock he seen some of the most beautiful dark skinned people he had ever seen. The children were beautiful the men and women were beautiful and extremely happy. They were served lunch with these people. The tourists couldn’t speak their language but the people would smile and nod their heads. My brother said that it was as if they these people were happy just to have visitors and he felt it must have been an unusual occurrence for them. He tried to query the guide but he was very elusive he just told them that they were at a very special place. Now at this point I must add that my brother isn’t a story teller he’s a professor at the local college he couldn’t tell a descent BS story without screwing it up. I have always wondered about these people, who were they, where did they come from. I’ve always heard that there were a very beautiful people that lived in the northern part of Africa, Sudan, and Ethiopia do you suspect that they are the remnants of the Egyptian dynasty.

I have also studied this indepth and am very aware of the black contribution to Ancient Nubia and Egypt as well as the huge genetic contribution.

People assume this to be an impossiblity because sub saharan africans live rurally etc and these african groups did'nt .

Yet Europe has always had exactly the same divide between the poorer less "civilised" germanic/slavic/baltic/northwest european areas [which were incidentally the whitest areas of europe] and there more civilised and cultured dark haired/darker skinned europeans in the Mediterranean whose culture they eventually adopted and assimilated into their own with the introduction of christianity.

People have this ridiculous notion of biological African groups such as Nubians, Somalians and Egyptians as non-African for having a craniometic pattern different from other African populations.Yet the Finno-Ugric people [estonia, finland, etc]and even the Balts who differ widely in craniometric pattern than the rest of europe are never declared non-european by anyone!

What astounds me most of all is that those of us from the US or from the British Isles can't really claim any alliance with the Ancient Egyptians and yet they oversee most of the scholarship. The people of the British isles and there descendants in the US share almost no DNA or lineage with the Romans/Greeks/or Egyptians. There ancestors were overwhelmingly of Celtic/Basque stock along with other tribal groups [Picts etc] - very extensive DNA studies have been done on this [Sykes/Oppenheimer].Yet African people may not at any time claim alignment with the Ancient Egyptians/Nubians whose African blood and continent they share. That to me is hilarious!

If that were true , which I know is not, so don't believe what you read in BET magazine or any other tabloid. if it WERE true, what the hell happened to your great BLACK race? did it slip a notch or two throughout the years? why do you blacks always feel the need to defend yourselves, and add to the segregation of people? can't you all get along with other races? do you all have to always be in conflict with everyone else? my gosh, that is all your race does in life, black this, black that. everything is a black thing to you people. get over yourselves.

Yes I was aware of this. I totally support mandatory Black African history be taught in public school systems YEAR ROUND! It should be a high school exit requirement and it shoule be taught one year of middle school. Facts about all the many empires of Africa should be taught just as the Roman and Greek ones are taught.

Most African-Americans are descendants of western Africa, far away from Nubia and/or eastern African cultures. Much different culture and history.
