Your Index.php file should be index.php.

Or, if you're on an apache server, create a .htaccess file, put it in the top-level directory, and add the following line to the file:

DirectoryIndex Index.php

Generally an FTP program displays your local computer files on the left side pane and then on the right side would be your remote website folders and files.

What you probably want to do is use your session manager in your FTP program and set it up to connect to your website server.

On the left side is your local files and you can adjust your FTP program's preferences so you can edit local files using a text editor or your HTML editor.

You need to make sure that the page that you want to show up when you go to the site is in the root directory - not in a folder inside it or anything.
