it's unethical and ineffective. The information obtained is NOT reliable, so you are basically just "torturing" them to get worthless information.. which means you are doing it "Just for the hell of it" And you don't become a better nation by intentionally bring pain to people you HAVEN'T EVEN PROVED to have done anything wrong (most of the people we hold are supposed, not proven terrorists)
So it's utterly and completely a pointless, barbaric endeavor that serves no function OTHER than to degrade our image with the world.
You want to do something worthwhile to get information? Than improve our spy agencies and information networks to the point that we have so much info we know what the terrorists are thinking before they do.

There are different degrees of torture, making a Terrorist dress in womans underware is really not the same as some-one having their head hacked off with a blunt sword.

it creates an enemy less willing to surrender and thus hurts intelligence gathering - creates an enemy willing to fight to the death - encourages our enemy to torture us (more) - feeds hatred toward us
this is the whole basis behind not torturing - it is the common sense argument against it - without even getting into a moral discussion

It wrong ONLY if you are not trying to get information that could kill many people. Its wrong as a form of punishment

its completely unethical.
the main reason people are being tortured is because, what, they tortured someone else? how is it making it better when we stoop to their level.
The biggest problem of torture in my opinion is what is happening in Guantanamo Bay, they're torturing prisoners who supposedly pose a threat as terrorists, when the vast majority are actually innocent!!!
This is the u.s., everyone held here has the right to a fair trial, not to torture. torture is animalistic and inhumane.

Because it don`t work. The best way to get info is to act like you are their friend and they are protected just like a witness protection program.

It is a Christian thing. No one else cares. Look at the powers in the CIA. Not Christian and they don't care.
