okay, so i'm going on a vacation to san diego... and... what is there to do around christmas? like, is it warm enough to swim? anything fun for like teens? (17-18)

the water is too cold unless you have a wetsuit. The weather has been pretty cold lately as well. Go to the zoo or just go cruise around Pacific Beach and Mission Beach around the boardwalk. It's not really beach weather right now but you can still have fun.

If you are a teen I would get a day pass for the trolly's and buses. It is far easier to get around quickly that way than by car most of the time. As far as swimming it's too cold unless you are a seal. Take the ferry to Coronado and the beach at the Del Coronado is the best one in the area.

If you're planning a beach vacation, forget about it. X-Mas can be sunny and warm in comparison to other parts of the country, but it's not beach weather. I would check out Balboa Park, Zoo, Sea World and Wild Animal park. Maybe you could do a side-trip to Disneyland. Other than that, check out the Gaslamp Quarter, Old Town and Downtown La Jolla.

There are lots of cool places to shop....Horton Plaza, downtown La Jolla, Fashion Valley, Seaport Village.
If you are into animals go to the zoo, Wild Animal Park, or Sea World.
There are lots of outdoor activities like biking along the coast, ride the ferry over to Coronado, hiking at Torrey Pines, fishing, bay cruises. Even when it's too cool to swim, young people will hang out around the beaches. People will be surfing.

Too cold to swim unless a Santa Ana comes. Then you could swim in a pool but not in the ocean.
Take a trolley tour from Old Town San Diego, go to Sea World, the zoo, a museum. There is a lot of stuff to do.
