I agree with the other posters....it sounds like he is about to shed BUT if he just shed recently, he could have retained eye caps. This is usually caused by too low humidity. Do you have a bowl in the enclosure big enough for him to soak in? Is your humidity at the desired level for a royal python (something you should know)? Check both these things plus temperatures. Also, ball (or royal) pythons typically have a "wrinkly" look to their eyes which is quite normal. If not sure, please consult a reptile vet before trying to do anything yourself.

i believe it could be the common eye shed lack. its pretty simple to fix and its absolutely vital that you fix it or it could lead to very serious problems. bring the snake in your bathroom, close the door behind you. shut any open windows, turn your shower and facuet on full blast extremely hot water. let the bathroom fog up for a little bit. once its nice and foggy let your ball just hang around. after like 10 minutes take a q-tip, damp the tip of the q-tip with warm water. very very very VERY carefully roll the damp tip over the python eyes barely touching it. the skin should start to peel off as you roll the q-tip up and down. next time spray your tank constantly with warm water to boost up humidity and put a hot damp towel over the screen lid covering about 75% of it, this will keep the humidity in the tank for longer periods of time during its shed. I hope your pythons eye shed comes off. good luck!!!

Try warm water with tissue or cotton wool. Dab at the skin over his eyes, it may loosen it up if the skin is tough and dry, alot like you do with reptile toes if skin is stuck. Dont pull, just tease. it may take a few goes.
I had a leopard gecko with exactly the same thing, her eyes seemed glazed over and dull. i took her to the vets and they gave her antibiotics which did nothing. she stopped eating because she lost her sight, so couldnt see her food to catch it. she wouldn't be hand fed and eventually my boyfriend and i had to perform euthanasia. the vets claimed nothing was wrong with her. it was because the skin got that hard and everytime she shed, another layer was ontop of her eyes, it was too late when i figured it out.

If they look kinda gray or blue, almost like they have a scale over them then it is time for shedding. You can add a bowl of water to his cage, something big enough for him to soak in and some rocks or branches to help him shed his skin.
Good Luck!

I'm not going to abuse you because you didn't take him to the vet because you obviously think it's a minor problem and it probably is. Check other signs to see if he's shedding (dull skin, inactivity etc) and if it is a shed, let him shed normally. If, however, it doesn't look like a shed or he's not eating, take him to a reptilian vet just to be safe. Don't use a normal cat/dog vet as they lack proper expertise to deal with snakes.

confident this is on the threshold of shed. as quickly as he does make confident all of it got here off in one piece and none of that's caught to him. If it got here off in products you in all risk ought to envision the humidity levels on your tank
