The unified resistence that immigrants today have to learning the language and becoming part of our culture. They have their own "pockets" of their own culture. I have seen 3rd and 4th generation born here, who did not speak a word of English. It is very sad.

Also, as someone else has mentioned, instant gratification. I see it especially in young people who expect to snap their fingers and have their parents jump. That never happened in our home, and it isn't happening in our children's homes, either. But, there are parents out there that just indulge their children like they are little gods. They will be problem adults.

Inequality of Wealth
Rising cost of heath care

Old guy:
It would cost $45 everytime you tested someone to give a welfare check that is a waste of money. Instead of wishing everyone was tested you should fight for your right not to be tested. Do you know why so many employers drug test? So that they can fire you without paying unemployment. So the freeloaders do get screwed. I work for a medical lab that does drug testing. My skills are in demand and they don't test us because they don't want to lose us. They don't randomly drug test doctors at hospital, even though they have high rates of drug abuse, access to drugs, and a very important job. But we do random drug tests for Wal-Mart.

An insatiable appetite for sensationalist news/inability to discuss issues thoughtfully in the public forum, and a quantity-over-quality approach towards work in general (be it actual production or hours worked).

Illegal aliens and all the freeloaders on the welfare rolls.

Here's a way to stop some of the freeloaders..

Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem.

What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them??

Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their butt. Could you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?????

Instant gratification & entitlement.

I think commercials/advertisments seem to feed these, and it gets outta control and rotts away many aspects of our culture. I don't think instant gratification & entitlement is bad, but rather that we are gluttonious on these cultural traits and this gluttony towards these characteristics is not healthy for our culture.
