It's called sterilisation, or having your 'tubes tied'.
It's when a woman has her fallopian tubes tied or clipped so that eggs cannot get through to the womb to be fertilised.
The tubes will eventually wither and seal at either end, making the procedure permanent after a long period of time. It can be reversed in the short term by another procedure, if necessary- but pregnancy is not guaranteed.
So be sure this is what she wants!

Its ligation, she can have it few days after giving birth if she doesnt want to get pregnant again. There are two ways to do it, one is by cutting, the other is just tying. The first one is permanent already. The second way there is still a chance to get pregnant in the future if she still wants to, just let her doctor untie and she is capable of getting pregnant again.

Tubal ligation is cutting and tying off the fallopian tubes so ovulation won't reach the uterus. An oopherectomy is when you actually remove the ovaries so ovulation won't occur at all. Many women are opting for thermal endometrial ablation which is less invasive but please know there is a chance of pregnancy afterward still. Good luck to you!

As everyone else says, there's tubal ligation. There's also a new procedure, usually used for women who suffer from menorrhagia (extremely heavy periods). It's called uterine ablasion, and it also results in sterility with the added bonus of reducing or eliminating periods. It is very simple, takes about a half and hour, and requires no incision.

The word you're looking for is "hysterectomy".
Of course, for a less invasive procedure, the correct word is "divorce" (it would cut-off the main reason for the pregnancies, right?). ;)
BTW, I noticed that you didn't say that SHE wanted to do this, in which case that's her decision, not yours. Regardless of your point-of-view (assuming you were not asking out of idle curiosity), you should not mention this to your relative, as it is none of your business.

she asks her doctor to steralise her. Which she can have done pretty much straight after the birth of her baby. Depending on how the delivery went with her baby of course.
