I just don't get the concept between adults. Especially women -I dont' know any guys that give each other gifts, but women are all about it.

I totally understand. Christmas is for children. I always get gift that are no use to me and I'd rather not get any. It's not important.

I do usually buy what I want when I want it but its always nice to get a little surprise of something unexpected that I may have mentioned liking. You're right that women do give each other gifts and men dont exchange with other guys but my husband loves to be surprised with tech stuff, tools, toys and treats. Essentially however, Christmas is for the kids.

I enjoyed Christmas when I was younger and I still do now that I'm grown.
The decorating, the snow, the lights, the giving....
It's the thought that counts and I think that Christmas is a great time to let someone know that you appreciate and love them by giving them a gift. As a society, we tend to forget about that the other 364 days of the year....

???

Why should adults exchange gifts?

No, people don't necessarily buy everything they want to own.

You don't know guys who exchange gifts on Christmas or birthdays?

How odd.

Gifts can be fun. Figuring out what the person will like; watching them open it and be happy to have it; getting something you wouldn't get for yourself; remembering the person who gave it to you the entire time you have it.

We are all kids at heart, I should say all except YOU apparently! I love exCHANGING gifts with my friends because I get to see the joy that my giving them just the right gifts brings to them!

that is if it's okay with you!

oh and for YOUR information, my father and his brother did exchange gifts and he also exchanged gifts with neighbors so I don't know why you are lumping all men together as that is EXCEEDING RUDE! and both of my parents and my afore mentioned uncle are all deceased and I think it is disrespect ful of you to lump all men

What a cynical viewpoint... because giving gifts is thoughtful.
