Can anyone give me a site for taking tests to find out what type of careers you would like to have (based on personality and what you like to do). Books would help too.

You'd think that it would be so simple to decide what you want to be when you grow up but I've been having doubts about mine so I need to come up with a back up plan.

One thing to consider before taking any career aptitude test, is that nobody can tell you, whether in person or through an expert system like aptitude tests, what career path is best for you.

Only you can determine that, based on how you feel about the careers or related activities you explore. It's the degree to which you enjoy the activity, that will indicate to you if a career is best for you.

Joseph Campbell offered the best advice: "Follow your bliss."

When you follow your bliss (or choose a career based on your passion), money will follow you. Money always follows people who engage in joyful creation.

But when you leave something as important as a career choice to a standardized test, you forget your inner guidance system, and that leads to professional unhappiness.

Good luck!
