Why do the pats get to keep their #2 draft pick if they had to give up their first round pick.
Allowing them to keep SF's pick is basically promoting cheating! That is ridiculous!!!
So what penalty did they actually recieve for Spygate? A fine?....wow, those have proven so effective in the past!

I wasn't aware that this was an old question. I knew that they lost their draft pick, and I knew that they had SF's, but I thought they lost SF's also!
After all, the #2 pick is now theirs, thus that is their first round pick

Well, you could say they didn't really get any punishment if you look at the SF pick, which is better than what they would end up having. (32). But almost any 1st rounder is good and it still will be noted in their history that the pick was taking because of them cheating. So they're a little tarnished.

They lost a first round Draft pick, but they had another one that SF had traded them... that pick was independent of the scandal and unaffected by it.
Why dont we just penalize them by asking them to play with 10 guys? or hey, maybe they cant use Tom Brady for a week as a punishment? or, bellichick isn't allowed to go with any passing plays, only running? my point is, they fined them, punished them, and they still ruined everyone out there... you cant just start making up punishments that would hurt them... nothing hurts them!

For a simple Video Cam they were severly punished, and punished enough. It is time for you to grow up and let it go. Just what the hell is wrong here. You guys are acting like a bunch of losers. Its in the past. LET IT GO. Life goes on. They are the best team in the NFL and that rubs you the wrong way. You search under every nook and cranny looking for fault with the team and the only thing you find is 13 weeks ago. Its over.

The Patriots traded last year's draft pick for the 49ers. Tha NFL can't puncih the Patriots for last year's draft pick that wasn't used, that was before the incident.

I don't think they were punished enough, I mean regardless of what they did, they are still a very, very good team. The odd thing is they were/ still are #1 in the power rankings when they were caught cheating, why would you feel the need to cheat? Anyways I think they should of forfeited half of their divisional games. You get six all together so that would be 3 games you would have to give up, but if it's the Patriots we're talking about then they would have no problem going 13 - 3.

dude that was like 8 weeks ago. The season is almost over. time to let it go....
and yes, their "punishment" did suck... paid $500,000 and get 49ers draft pick. doesn't effect the team in any way...
