Are you looking for one currently on TV? Or are you looking for something to watch during the strike? If you are looking for an old series to watch during the strike may I reccommend Angel, Veronica Mars, Buffy the Vampire Slayer? All are well written glimpses into the human mind and even though 2 of them have supernatural elements, they are still very realistic and deal with daily issues. The episode of Buffy called "The Body" dealt with Buffy's mothers death and was one of the best written hours in television history. It should have won just about everyone involved an Emmy, but as usual they weren't even considered.
If you are looking for current, Supernatural, Heroes, Bones and Pushing Daisies are just a few of the high quality shows around.
