how much will it cost about, to have part if the front garden dug out into a drive by builders, i know about the planning permission etc i wana no how much the actual work will cost

Depends on who you use.
A neighbour of mine had a new drive fitted a few months ago, it cost her nearly £2000 and the cowboys that did it are laughing all the way to the bank, the entire thing is breaking apart and she hasn't even parked her car on it yet.
If you're going to get it done then ask around your friends and neighbours who have had there drives done, get many quotes from different reliable companies.
Be careful as there's a lot of cowboys out there.
