I really hate it when people say that they are someone when they really aren't. I don't care who it is it's just stupid wwhen they think somethings without even verifying it and trying to be like you. Has this ever happened to you?

I can't say that this has happened to me before (still feelin yucky from stomach virus--brain fog) but I have to agree with the rest on here. Telling lies is wrong. Satan is a liar and the father of the lie, so he LOVES it when people do it too.

That being said, I'm sure that everyone (except for Jesus & Jehovah) has told a lie at some point in thier lives, (we are all sinners) it doesn't make it o.k. though. Then you have compulsive or pathological liars... people who lie just because... no remorse and something that has consumed thier lives to the point that they themselves probably don't know whats true or not.
But stay stong in the knowlege that the end of this system is nearing and these things will be no more.

each and every lie is an untruth, yet no longer each and every untruth is a lie. Why no longer? A dictionary defines a lie as “an fact of something time-venerated or believed by potential of the speaker to be unfaithful with reason to misinform.” sure, mendacity incorporates the objective to misinform somebody. for this reason, to communicate an untruth unwittingly—together with giving somebody incorrect info or figures by potential of mistake—isn't the comparable as to inform a lie. “that's the lip of certainty which would be firmly everyday consistently, however the tongue of falsehood would be in user-friendly terms as long as a 2d,” explains Proverbs 12:19. sure, honest speech is marked by potential of sturdiness and permanence. And human relationships are greater stable and relaxing whilst anybody is dedicated to speaking the certainty and performing in unity with it. Lies, on the different hand, can not stand the try of time. A tongue that utters falsehood might misinform for a together as, yet untruth does no longer prevail interior the long term. besides, Jehovah, the God of certainty, has set a time decrease for the toleration of untruth and of people who sell lies. The Bible supplies that Jehovah will wipe out the effect of devil the devil, the daddy of the lie, who's deceptive the entire inhabited earth. Jehovah will quickly placed an end to all lies and liars.—Revelation 21:8.

Yes, unfortunately it does happen!

All I can say is try to encourage the person to be themselves more, because you already know who you are and you want to get to know them better. It's a toughy and irritating to have someone copy you ... did you know some people have a very low self-esteem and they don't feel worthy to be themselves? Or at times it can be a degree of jealousy, too.

Pray about it and if you think the other person will listen to you, maybe you could try to express your frustration in a kind manner.

EDIT ~
To Aaamoradobrooks's:
Oops, sorry for mentioning the low self-esteem in my answer - I just read everybody else's answers after I replied! I was not trying to copy anybody - LOL!!!

Sadly it's a trait passed on by Adam and Eve, satan lied to Eve she in turn tempted Adam who then lied to God......it's just a big old mess isn't it?

Some will say, it's just human nature!

Liars are manipulative persons.

They will say and or do whatever it takes to get what they want or what they think they need.

A liar usually has a very low self-esteem and little or no integrity.

cause lying is the only thing they know what to do. I say, if you can't be honest with yourself, then don't answer anything. Or keep your mouth shut. Nobody wants to hear anybody's lies. Truth will set you free.
